Lift Operators


Searchmont Resort is seeking full-time or part-time Lift Operators for the 2022-2023 ski and snowboard season.

Searchmont Resort is a premiere ranked, regional training and recreation facility with high-quality mountain terrain, amenities, events, and entertainment located just 48 KM North of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We promote a healthy, active lifestyle by providing winter recreation for families, sports enthusiasts and competitive athletes of all ages.

The ideal candidate for this position is energetic, dependant and customer service oriented. Lift Operators are responsible for ensuring the safety of guests and the operation of ski lifts through proper maintenance and performance upkeep. This is a seasonal position and Lift Operators must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends, including holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe operation of their assigned lift during their shift
  • The safe loading and unloading of guests on and off the lift
  • Provide physical assistance when necessary
  • Managing the queue of skiers and snowboarders on and off the lift
  • Ensure all guests using the lift have a valid ticket or pass for that day
  • Operational maintenance including ramps, walkways and signs
  • Establish a friendly, interactive relationship with guests and fellow staff
  • Responsible for duties assigned by the team lead, supervisors and managers

Skills, Qualities & Attributes

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Be of a friendly and co-operative nature and capable to work with the public
  • Must be in good physical condition
  • Ski/Snowboarding experience an asset

Grounds and Building Maintenance

 

Searchmont Resort is seeking full-time Grounds and Building Maintenance for the 2022-2023 ski and snowboard season available to begin immediately.

Searchmont Resort is a premiere ranked, regional training and recreation facility with high-quality mountain terrain, amenities, events, and entertainment located just 48 KM North of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We promote a healthy, active lifestyle by providing winter recreation for families, sports enthusiasts and competitive athletes of all ages.

The ideal candidate for this position is energetic, dependant and customer service oriented. This is a full-time seasonal position and Grounds Crew must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends, including holidays.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the de-icing and clearing of snow from walks, patios, doorways
  • General building maintenance ie: minor repairs and building maintenance
  • Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site, ensuring property is not damaged in the efforts of removing snow. Maintain and care for provided equipment, tools and vehicles.
  • Proficiently and safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, ATV’s, skid loaders, vehicles with plow blades, and other power and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal.
  • Proficiently and safely use small power tools for maintenance
  • Safely and appropriately distribute de-icing solutions, including sand or ice melt products.
  • Perform highly physical work outdoors on a consistent basis in all weather conditions, specifically very cold, icy, snowy weather.
  • Will require cold weather gear and wear it appropriately to protect themselves against adverse weather conditions.
  • Work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality.
  • Keep accurate timesheet records
  • Responsible for duties assigned by the team lead, supervisors and managers

Skills, Qualities & Attributes

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Groundskeeping and snow removal experience an asset

Ski and Snowboard Instructors

 

Searchmont Snowschool is seeking enthusiastic, energetic, kind-hearted individuals to join our resort in providing excellent ski and snowboard instruction on beginner and intermediate levels. Join our team as either an apprentice, ready to learn and to help our experienced and certified instructors, or as an already certified CASI/CSIA instructor.

Apprentices will be coached in the invaluable task of assisting instructors and students in group settings. Ski and Snowboard Level 1 certification will be offered throughout the season for those wishing to upgrade their training.
